THE ROLE

Job Introduction

We are creating a new Organisational Strategies team within BBC HR who will act as an internal consulting team supporting the transformation of the BBC by developing agile and resilient operating models and organisational structures that adapt swiftly to change, drive sustainable success through innovative and efficient processes, and enable the BBC to deliver Value for All.

We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Model Design Specialist to be a driving force in shaping and optimising our organisation. As a key player, you’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders and executives to understand their unique challenges and objectives, providing expert guidance and recommendations to drive success.

Main Responsibilities

•    Act as an internal consultant collaborating with executives and senior stakeholders to craft efficient operating models.
•    Work closely with senior stakeholders to define clear business objectives and operational requirements.
•    Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing operating models to drive improvement and efficiency. 
•    Lead capability mapping exercises to identify, assess and prioritise key capabilities. 
•    Develop innovative operating model options that align with our strategic goals.
•    Create detailed documentation and visual representations of operating models, including process flows and organisational structures.
•    Develop and roll out leading edge Op Model and OD methodologies and toolkits
•    Work with leadership teams to develop interventions that foster high performing teams and enhance team dynamics.
•    Design and lead engaging workshops that foster active participation to achieve outcomes. 
•    Develop business cases which clearly demonstrate the case for change, RoI, financial modelling and risks and opportunities.
•    Manage projects to timescales and within budget.
•    Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in operating model design.
•    Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring their success.
 

Are You The Right Candidate?

To be successful in this role you’ll need experience of working as a senior level consultant, working closely with stakeholders to understand their unique challenges and objectives, develop tailored solutions, and deliver strategic recommendations. You will have significant experience in operating model design and optimisation, ideally within a range of organisations/sectors. 

 

Furthermore, you’ll need:
•    Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive major changes. 
•    Exceptional presentation skills, using MS PowerPoint to design visually appealing and cohesive presentations.
•    Able to analyse complex problems and to deliver insightful, practical and sustainable solutions
•    Demonstrated experience engaging executive level stakeholders.
•    Proven experience in workshop design and facilitation, with a strong portfolio of past workshops.
•    Proficiency in using modelling tools and software.
•    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
•    Experience in leading matrix teams, providing inspirational leadership, coaching and developing teams to deliver exceptional results.
•    Knowledge of wider HR theories, models and practices
•    A background of leading, shaping and contributing to transformational change
